Arleigh Burke Essay Contest
Deadline: December 1, annually
Eligibility: Essays that advance professional, literary or scientific knowledge in the naval and maritime services, and advance the knowledge of sea power.
Value: First Prize: $3,000, a gold medal and a Life Membership in the U.S. Naval Institute. First Honorable Mention: $2,000 and a silver medal. Second Honorable Mention: $1,000 and a bronze medal. Winning essays are pubilshed in the May issue of Proceedings.
