The Word Guild Canadian Christian Writing Awards

Eligibility: The Word Guild Canadian Christian Writing Awards encourage excellence in writing by Canadians who are Christian. The Word Guild accepts entries from all eligible writers, and are not restricted to members. The awards programs are open to Canadian citizens and to non-Canadians who have legal permanent resident status.

Description: Awards for Published Writers: The Word Guild Canadian Christian Writing Awards recognize outstanding work published during the previous calendar year. The expanded list of 28 categories incorporates novels, non-fiction books, scripts, feature articles, columns and poetry, among others. A new category highlights books that explain or encourage Christian faith for secular readers. Entries may be submitted by the publisher or the writer. Awards for Unpublished Writers: The First-Time Canadian Christian Author Award, sponsored by Castle Quay Books and Essence Publishing, is open to writers who have not previously published a book. The winner will see his or her manuscript published and receive a $1,000 advance against royalties.
