Canadian Authors Association Air Canada Award

Deadline: March 31, annually
Eligibility: Canadian writers under 30 deemed to show most promise in the field of literary creation. There are no restrictions as to the field and a winner may be chosen for work in a variety of forms. Previous winners are ineligible, but there is no limit on the number of times a writer may be nominated before the age limit (at April 30 in the year of the competition) is reached. The nomination can be in any form but the recommended approach is to submit a copy of the writer's current CV accompanied by a brief introductory letter and samples of the writer's work with reviews if available. Full-lenth works need not be sent. Note date of birth of writer on submitted samples. Entries are not returned.
Value: Air travel for two to any Air Canada destination.

Further Details: Self-nominations are not accepted. Nominations must be postmarked no later than March 31. The award is presented at a Literary Awards Banquet which concludes the CAA's annual conference in July each year. The banquet is preceded by a reading supported by the Canada Council for the Arts.
