FUND DEVELOPMENT
The CSH Fund Development Team is comprised of three and a half staff that manage the organization’s revenue development efforts to secure grants, contracts and individual contributions. The team manages a portfolio of over a hundred funders and annually submits approximately 175 requests totally over $20 million dollars.
SCOPE OF SERVICE
CSH is seeking an experienced grant writer to work on a part-time, consulting basis to support the Fund Development team in raising funds and in stewardship of existing funders who can offer us approximately 35-50 hours per month of their time. The duration of this position is contingent upon avaialble funding. This candidate will be a contracted consultant for CSH and will be compensated by a negotiated hourly rate based on predetermined deliverables.
DELIVERABLES
Acquire and maintain sufficient knowledge of CSH in order to articulate our mission, goals, and proposed work in a compellingly manner to prospective funders.
Gather information about relevant programs/projects and needs for proposal and grant reports.
Write and/or edit grant applications and supporting materials, exhibiting strong expository writing skills and excellent grammar and spelling.
Develop grant proposals in explicitly accordance with each funder’s guidelines.
Work to ensure strong relationships with Fund Development staff, timely submissions of proposals and appropriate progress reports and follow-up for funded projects.
Provide sufficient time for staff feedback and review of proposals and reports prior to submission.
QUALIFICATIONS
CSH is seeking an experienced fund development professional who has at least three years of experience in securing grants and/or contracts and has a proven track record of successfully obtaining funds through proposal writing. CSH is looking for someone who can work independently, manage multiple project simultaneously and effectively meet deadlines. The ideal consultant will also have an interest in and knowledge of issues related to homelessness, human services, affordable housing, and/or public policy.
