Called the "hottest non-profit on the planet" by FORTUNE magazine and a Top 50 Website by TIME, Kiva (www.kiva.org) is the world's first personal microlending marketplace with a mission of alleviating global poverty by connecting people through microlending. In just 6 years, Kiva has raised over $300 million for nearly 800,000 borrowers in 61 countries. Kiva combines the culture and approach of an internet start-up with an intense focus on serving the borrower-to-lender connection. Kiva is poised to take its initial success to a whole new level -- targeting $1 billion in loans by 2017 and expanding into new areas (e.g. student loans, water, mobile, etc.). Headquartered in San Francisco, Kiva's team has nearly 100 employees and over 500 volunteers worldwide.
The Video Production Manager is responsible for curating, creating and managing Kiva’s engaging multimedia content. The person in this new role will help to develop Kiva’s strategy and plans for integrating video into every aspect of the Kiva experience, and will drive the creation and execution of everything from standalone projects to integrated campaigns, spearheading new video ideas and tracking their success. The Video Production Manager will be responsible for delivering on the Kiva brand, and bringing Kiva’s work to life through video storytelling across multiple channels. The ideal candidate for this role is a self-starter who loves interacting with a wide range of people, is exceptionally creative and thrives on new ideas, has great communication skills and loves to learn and teach others.
Kiva’s Marketing and Communications team is growing rapidly, and will reach 6 full time employees and a team of interns this year. We operate as a "start-up" in that we move fast, everybody counts, and your contribution has the potential to make a big impact on Kiva and the world at large. Our team is primarily responsible for introducing and engaging new users, bringing them to Kiva’s “front door” to participate in the power of personal microlending.
Kiva is built on the belief that when people have a greater understanding of the world they are more empathetic, and that empathy leads to a desire to be generous in supporting other people’s dreams. To achieve our mission, Kiva aspires to build understanding and empathy by strengthening connections between a global network of lenders and borrowers. Kiva’s work is visually rich, drawing on personal stories and successes from the 60+ countries where we work. The Video Production Manager will be responsible for bringing the richness of these stories from the field into the lives of our current and potential lenders. Specific job responsibilities include:
