The Asian American Civic Association is seeking an Editor/Reporter to be responsible for editorial content of the Sampan Newspaper, a bilingual and bi-weekly Asian community newspaper. Job Responsibilities: Report, write and/or edit the editorial section of the newspaper. Review of articles, research and write feature stories, headlines and captions. Work with Advertising department on design and layout of the newspaper Qualifications : BS in English, Journalism, Communications or related field preferred. Excellent writing and editing skills for print. • Journalistic experience Knowledge of QuarkXPress or Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop Experience in production and layout Must have excellent organizational skills and be able to handle multiple deadlines, work under pressure, and interact with a wide variety of people. Familiarity with Chinatown issues. Bilingual in Chinese a plus.
