Founded in Canada in 1969, IFAW has become one of the world's largest animal welfare organizations, with 15 offices worldwide. IFAW works to improve the welfare of wild/domestic animals by reducing commercial exploitation of animals, protecting wildlife habitats, assisting animals in distress, and promoting animal welfare and conservation policies that advance the well-being of both animals and people.

Fondé au Canada en 1969, le Fonds international pour la protection des animaux (IFAW) est devenu l'une des plus importantes organisations internationales de protection des animaux.
