Canadian Petroleum Institute Announces Roadshow
to Promote Oil and Gas Exploration
and Development Opportunities in Chile

CALGARY, ALBERTA: The Canadian Petroleum Institute (CPI) announced today that it has been retained to organise a Roadshow Presentation on behalf of the Chilean Government's Ministry of Mining, to be held on the morning of Thursday July 19th at the Delta Bow Valley hotel in Calgary, Alberta.

Chile has recently launched a tender for the licensing of ten offshore and onshore exploration blocks in the Magallanes Basin in Chile's southern region, and has requested the assistance of the Canadian Petroleum Institute in introducing these exploration opportunities to interested Canadian E&P companies. The Chilean government plans to award seven of the ten available blocks to private companies with sufficient experience and financial capability, and the remaining three to private companies interested in forming a joint venture with Empresa Nacional de Petróleo (ENAP), Chile's national oil company.

Her Exellency Karen Poniachik, Minister of Mining for Chile, will be in attendance along with a number of other senior officials, offering Roadshow attendees a unique opportunity to directly discuss the exploration potential of the blocks and licensing terms with suitable Canadian firms.
