ECO Canada Announces Winners
of
Environmental Employer of the Year Awards

January 27, 2006

TORONTO – ECO Canada announced today the winners of its inaugural Environmental Employer of the Year awards. The awards recognize companies that demonstrate outstanding human resource and business management practices and policies within the Canadian environmental profession.

The Delphi Group of Ottawa, Ontario was this year’s winner in the small- to medium-sized company category, while Golder Associates Ltd. was the winner in the large company category.

“It’s critical to the growth of the environmental profession that we recognize companies that can be referred to as ‘employers of choice,’ says Grant Trump, President and CEO of ECO Canada. “The Employer of the Year Awards allow qualified workers to narrow their job search to include only the best companies.”

The winners were unveiled during the closing luncheon of ECO Canada Conference 2006, ECO Canada’s inaugural environmental sector conference, which was held this year in Toronto. The two-day conference was designed to help environmental professionals identify upcoming environmental business opportunities, define strategies to secure new ventures, and showcase timely human resource best practices and case studies to promote business growth.

ECO Canada is a national, not-for-profit organization that helps to strengthen the Canadian economy by providing a critical link between industry’s need for qualified environmental practitioners and those looking for career and skills development in the environment profession.
