Livingston's Consultrans operation
upgrades ISO certification
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
October 28, 2003
Toronto, Ontario - Consultrans' dispatch operation has upgraded
to ISO 9001:2000 certification, the new standard for top-quality
service, Stephen Rowe, senior vice-president of Livingston International's
North American ground transportation management operation, announced
today.
"ISO certification gives comfort to clients," said Rowe.
"It lets them know we are set up to serve them." It also
differentiates Consultrans from most other freight brokers, who
have not met this quality standard.
The main difference from the earlier certification "is the
heightened focus on customer satisfaction, the need to make sure
that all our processes work toward that end," he said. "Because
Consultrans is so client-focused, few process changes were required.
It was mostly a question of revising the manual and training the
many employees we have integrated since Livingston International
acquired our division more than a year ago," he said.
Consultrans has a reputation for efficiently moving clients' shipments,
regardless of the complexity. By the end of September, Consultrans
had moved 48,864 loads throughout North America in the previous
12-month period, with an incident ratio of less than one-half of
one per cent.
Livingston International Inc. facilitates two-way trade between
the United States and Canada through customs clearance, transportation
management and InsightŪ, technology solutions for managing trade-related
information and processes. Based in Toronto, Canada, the company
has over 70 offices and approximately 1,650 employees located at
key border points and other strategic locations across Canada and
the United States.
