Take Charge of Your Health
Toronto, February 10, 2004 - Ontarians can learn about diet
and lifestyle changes that may significantly improve their health
when The Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM) hosts
its annual Health and Wellness Fair. The event takes place on Sunday,
March 28, 2004, during National Nutrition month.
"CCNM's Health and Wellness Fair is a wonderful opportunity
for the public to come and experience first hand what naturopathic
medicine is all about," says Bobbi Greenberg, Chief - Marketing
& Communications.
Naturopathic medicine focuses on the whole person. Every aspect
of a person's lifestyle is examined as part of the process to improve
overall health and prevent disease. Nutrition, one of the cornerstones
of naturopathic medicine, is the theme of CCNM's Health and Wellness
Fair.
Attendees will be able to participate in a variety of demonstrations
and information sessions. A popular option is the free personalized
naturopathic health overview, using traditional Chinese tongue and
pulse tests, diet analysis and musculo-skeletal analysis.
A series of information sessions will examine nutrition from several
angles. Topics include Multivitamins: Who needs them?, Trans Fat:
Hiding out in your food and Nutrition: A Traditional Chinese Perspective,
not just take-out with chopsticks.
Tours of the on-site Robert Schad Naturopathic Clinic will be offered.
Prospective students will be able to learn about the college's academic
program and meet the professors. Refreshments and door prizes will
be available. Details are posted at www.ccnm.edu.
The college is located at 1255 Sheppard Ave. East, at Leslie subway
station. Admission is free, and doors will be open to the public
between 12 - 5 p.m.
The Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, established in 1978,
offers Canada's only accredited four-year, full time professional
program in naturopathic medicine. Graduates receive a Doctor of
Naturopathic Medicine (ND) diploma. The college is home to the Robert
Schad Naturopathic Clinic, where students train under the direction
of regulated naturopathic doctors. Interns use safe, non-invasive
therapies and gentle techniques.
