Publication may have taken place outside of Canada. Reprints are not eligible. Translations are not eligible except in the case of novels where the original version is by a Canadian, in which case the year of publication of the translation would apply. CAA Lela Common Award for Canadian History is for a work of historical non-fiction on a Canadian topic. Biographical works are not eligible. Further Details: There is a fee of $35 per title entered. Entered titles must have been published in the year prior to the award year: for example, for the 2005 awards, in 2004. Five copies of the book or script are required. Awards are presented at a Literary Awards Banquet which concludes the CAA's annual conference in June each year. The banquet is preceded by a reading supported by the Canada Council for the Arts.
