Canadian Ethnocultural Council expresses sympathy
for family of Raisat Ali Khan

January 6, Ottawa.
The President of the Canadian Ethnocultural Council, Mr Art Hagopain, has expressed sympathy and sorrow to the family and friends of Raisat Ali Khan, who was so tragically slain on January 5, 2003. Mr Raisat had been member of the Board of the CEC when he was President of the National Federation of Pakistani Canadians in the mid-nineties.

"Mr. Khan was a very respected community leader and a positive individual. He was always willing to assist and to work together with other ethnocultural communities. He had a distinguished service record with many organizations and he contributed a lot to Canada.

We are saddened by his untimely death - he would have continued to contribute greatly to the well-being and interests of not just his community but of all Canadians. We extend our deepest sympathy to his wife and children" said Mr. Hagopian.
