Canadian General Standards Board (CGSB)
The Canadian General Standards Board (CGSB) is the major standards-writing organization of the Federal Government. Over 1600 standards, including more than 700 National Standards are available to support procurement, consumer needs, health, safety, legislation and trade. Some $900 million annually of federal procurement is conducted by reference to CGSB standards and qualified products listings. CGSB is involved in over 85 subject areas, from abrasives to zinc coatings.
CGSB is accredited by the Standards Council of Canada to register companies to the ISO 9000 Series of Quality Standards. In addition, CGSB manages qualification and certification programs.
