Jewish human rights group available for comment on United Church's Israel settlement resolution
Ottawa - The United Church of Canada is expected to vote on a report this morning that would see the church support a boycott of products made in Israel's illegal settlements in the West Bank.
Independent Jewish Voices Canada supports the report and has national steering committee members observing the vote in Ottawa who will be available for comment.
A video encouraging the United Church to "Seek Peace, Pursue Justice" and adopt the report has been produced for the United Network for Justice and Peace in Palestine and Israel (UNJPPI) in cooperation with IJV.
In an open letter to the United Church of Canada?s 41st General Conference at Carleton University, Rabbi Lynn Gottlieb of Jewish Voice for Peace called on delegates to endorse proposals calling for the boycott of products made in illegal Israeli settlements located in occupied Palestinian territory.
