Conflict and Climate: Changing Course NOW

November 4, 2014

Toronto, Ontario: Canadian Voice of Women for Peace (VOW) present Conflict and Climate: Changing Course NOW, Sunday, November 9, at 9:30 a.m. at Metro Hall, 55 John Street, Rooms 308/309.

The keynote speaker, Joanna Kerr, the executive director of Greenpeace stated “Stopping climate change and environmental degradation are the most urgent priorities of my generation. For over two decades I have worked for economic empowerment and human rights for women and the most marginalized people around the world, an agenda now undermined by climate related causes.”

Saturday, November 8 at 6 pm VOW will host their first Annual Awards Dinner, in memory of 3 outstanding VOW women, at the home of Gwen Rapoport. The awards include the Shirley Farlinger Award for Peace Writings, The Muriel Duckworth Award for Peace Activism and the Anne Goodman Award for Peace Education. Eve Goldberg will provide musical entertainment.

Since 1960, VOW members have worked tirelessly for a world without conflict. As the only National Feminist Peace Organization, VOW provides our members the opportunity to appeal to our government regarding women and peace issues. Please join VOW as we are Changing Course NOW!
