Emmanuel International Canada and Emmanuel International Malawi commence training health-care providers

Emmanuel International Canada (EIC) and Emmanuel International Malawi (EI Malawi) commence training health-care providers in Malawi

Kristy Nowell Emmanuel International Canada’s Project Manager for Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (PROMISE) said,” training will be provided to equip staff with the knowledge and skills to provide the basic and comprehensive obstetric care at six health centres in Zomba District, ensuring women who arrive at the health facilities to give birth are met by suitably skilled medical personnel”.

EI Malawi has started the training to build the capacity of health-care providers to recognize and manage complications during pregnancy, childbirth and the post-partum period.
The course is a competency-based training in skilled birth attendance, emergency obstetric care and early newborn care
