Celebrating the World's Freedom of the Press Year

The National Ethnic Press and Media Council of Canada is pleased to announce that is organizing the annual ethnic press exhibition from Monday May 10th to Sunday May 16, 2010. This year’s theme of the week-long exhibition is “WORLD’S FREEDOM OF THE PRESS”.More than 180 publications serving more than 60 linguistic communities of the Canadian cultural mosaic are participating in this year’s event.
The official opening of the exhibition is scheduled for Monday May the 10th, at the Rotunda of the Toronto City Hall, at 6:00 pm.
Main speakers of the event would be the Hon. Michael Ignatieff, M.P, Leader of the Liberal Party of Canada and Leader of the Official Opposition, Dr Erick Hoskins, M.P.P, Minister of Citizenship and Immigration of Ontario. Following the speeches the NEPMCC is organizing a reception for the guests.
