Climate Scientist Dr. James Hansen visits Toronto on Sept. 15-16
September 8, 2010
Dr. James Hansen, one of the worlds foremost climate scientists, will be speaking in Toronto on September 15th and 16th. He is a guest of the University of Toronto Centre for Global Change Science and of Science for Peace. He will give a free public science lecture titled Climate Reality and then will join Naomi Klein and indigenous tar sands campaigner Clayton Thomas-Muller in a conversation about the socio-economic changes that will be required globally. He will also be speaking in a closed meeting with MPPs and MPs on September 16th.
Dr. Hansen is clear about the evidence on anthropogenic causes of climate change and he shows conclusive evidence enabling accurate predictions about sea-level rise and about some of the known tipping points that are predicted to trigger runaway climate change.
