Canadian Newsstand Awards/Grand prix d'excellence en kiosque


Deadline: Deadline for entries is April, anually.

Eligibility: Canadian-owned English or French-language magazines, and foreign-owned magazines maintaining offices in Canada and publishing Canadian editions, are eligible.

Value: Winners will receive $3,500 in promotion credits at retail outlets owned by HDS Retail, which operates Great Canadian News Co. and the Relay chain of airport newsstands. Great Canadian News is the lead sponsor for the program. Winners in the Small Magazines (under 10,000 circulation) category will receive $1,000 in credits.

Description: Produced by Masthead, the initiative is designed to recognize excellence in newsstand sales and cover execution by Canadian magazine publishers - and to help them boost their newsstand profile and revenue. Judged on: 50% qualitative, 50% criteria. A panel of independent judges, including circulation directors and art directors will vote. There are five categories: * Newsstand Cover of the Year * Best Newsstand Issue, Extra Large Magazine (circulation over 200,000) * Best Newsstand Issue, Large Magazine (circulation 75,000 to 199,999) * Best Newsstand Issue, Mid-size Magazine (circulation 10,000 to 74,999) * Best Newsstand Issue, Small Magazine (under 10,000 circulation)
