Banff Television Festival Rockie Awards Deadline: All entry forms (accompanied by the appropriate fees and promotional materials) and cassettes must be received by the third week in February.
Eligibility: Made-for-TV Movies, Mini-Series, Continuing Series, Short Dramas, Comedies, Social & Political Documentaries, Arts Documentaries, Performance Specials, Children's Programs, Information Programs, Animation Programs, Popular Science, History and Biography and Sports Programs.
Value: Producers of programs judged best in each of the categories will receive replicas of "The Banff Rockie," an original polished bronze sculpture created by Alberta artist Roy Leadbeater. An International Jury will select 2 Special Jury Award Winners, the Global Television Grand Prize Winner, an award which comes with $50,000 cash for the winning producer. NHK is awarding $25,000 to the Best HDTV entry (NHK President's Prize.) The international jury will decide category prizes and all other awards. Those who have programs chosen as nominees, and those who have programs selected for non-competitive screenings, will receive appropriate certificates of recognition suitable for framing.
