World of Wheels magazine celebrates 25 years
October 7, 2008Canadian automotive magazine continues to amuse and excite
OAKVILLE, Ont. – World of Wheels magazine published by Formula Media Group, a division of Metroland Media Group and Torstar Corp., celebrates its 25th anniversary this year – a remarkable feat in the highly competitive world of auto magazines on both sides of the border.
The magazine has evolved to become the premier auto enthusiast title in Canada since it was bought from Annex Publishing in 2005. Formula’s stable of more than a dozen consumer and trade magazines, as well as custom publications and show guides in the automotive, marine and lifestyle categories made the buy a natural fit.
The glossy World of Wheel’s 25th Anniversary issue features special editorial to celebrate the event. Look for many intriguing Top 25 lists, including: the 25 most significant designs over the past quarter-century; 25 best driving movies; 25 worst days on the job for staffers (there were a few fender-benders), and the 25 most notable, non-car milestones of 1983, the year the magazine was launched, a year resplendent with big hair and leg warmers – and that’s just David Lee Roth!
There’s also a look forward at what the next 25 years will hold for the automotive industry and car enthusiasts. The magazine is on newsstands starting the week of Oct 27, 2008, with promotional displays secured in select retailers.
