Tyndale Seminary Appoints Director of Doctor of Ministry Program

May 21, 2008 -- For Immediate Release

Dr. Paul Bramer has been appointed as Director of the Doctor of Ministry program at Tyndale Seminary, effective July 1, 2008. He will also serve as Professor of Christian Formation and Leadership at the Seminary.

"We are delighted that Dr. Bramer has accepted the challenge to serve as the inaugural director of this exciting new doctoral program at Tyndale," says Dr. Janet Clark, Dean of Tyndale Seminary. "He brings to the position the capacities and competencies needed to launch and lead a first-class program of advanced ministry education for Christian leaders."

Bramer comes to Tyndale after thirteen years of service on the faculty of North Park Theological Seminary in Chicago, IL. A Canadian by birth, Bramer began his academic career at Tyndale in the early '90s. His return to Tyndale is a welcomed homecoming.

A graduate of the PhD program in Educational Studies at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, Bramer is an ordained minister with the Evangelical Covenant Church and a certified spiritual director. His strong academic background combined with a deep commitment to developing ministry leaders makes him an ideal candidate for the post.

Bramer's proven record as an effective educator, administrator, researcher and ministry mentor, along with his expertise in technology-assisted distance learning, are significant assets that will greatly enhance a program that is drawing interest from ministry leaders across Canada and the world.

Tyndale's Doctor of Ministry is currently accepting applications for the first cohort of students who will begin their studies in May 2009. The degree is targeted to ministry leaders who aim to increase their ministry effectiveness, grow spiritually and professionally, and develop their leadership capacities.
