sources boosts Western mags
sources WAS PLEASED this year, for the first time, to be one of the sponsors of the Western Magazine Awards Foundation presentation at the Hotel Vancouver June 4. By all accounts, including that of former sources Managing Editor Raymond Bendall, who attended the dinner as our representative, it was a most worthwhile evening. Raymond now is Managing Editor of Vancouver Community College Press and someone you may meet on the slopes at Whistler. He will wed Mary Moore of Cobble Hill, B.C. this Summer. Particulars about the award winners can be found, of coarse, in THE WINNERS feature in this edition, part of this most complete harvest anywhere of Canadian winners of journalism awards and fellowships. The magazine industry in the West is flourishing in numbers and in quality. Both were well reflected in the attendance at the Foundation's superb workshops. We wished we could have been there in person and hope to be next year.
