IFIC Welcomes New Director and New Affiliate

Toronto, ON - February 16, 2017 - The Investment Funds Institute of Canada (IFIC) today announced that Duane Green, President & CEO at Franklin Templeton Investments Corp. (https://www.franklintempleton.ca/), has joined IFIC’s board and that WeirFoulds LLP (http://www.weirfoulds.com/index.aspx) has joined as an affiliate.

"On behalf of our board and membership, I am pleased to welcome Duane Green as a director of IFIC," said Paul C. Bourque, president and CEO. "The industry is responding to transformative regulatory proposals, technology developments and demographic changes. I am sure Duane Green will continue Franklin Templeton’s exceptional leadership in promoting the interests of investors and the broader industry through IFIC."

Mr. Green replaces Don Reed, who recently retired from Franklin Templeton.

WeirFoulds LLP, founded in 1860, has extensive experience with various types of investment funds and capital market participants within the investment management industry. The firm acts for asset management companies, investment dealers and investment advisers in a broad range of financing transactions, and services public and private funds.
