Grassroots Movement Activist Archive needs space

Help find a new home for this repository for the people’s history of Canada’s progressive organizing. About 600 square feet needed (depending on the configuration) to store precious documents and provide workspace for volunteers and researchers to scan and digitize materials to make them available online as well as to in-person researchers.

Must move out of our current home by June 30, 2023 because the building is being torn down, and a condo is scheduled to rise in its place.

Connexions is a reliable organization with a 47-year track record of doing good work, a solid network of board and advisory board members, volunteers, and supporters. Founded in 1975, Connexions is an all-volunteer project (except when we receive project funding, e.g. from Library & Archives Canada, which never includes money for rent). Connexions will mark its 50th anniversary in October 2025.

A free space would be wonderful, but we can pay modest rent.

Please visit Connexions.org to learn more and see the online collection of 400,000 files. Much remains to be done to share many thousands more multi-page items, and to receive additional donations of documents and other materials from long-time activists.
