IFIC to hold Annual Conference on October 1, 2010
TORONTO – The Investment Funds Institute of Canada (IFIC) will be holding its Annual Conference in Toronto on Friday, October 1, 2010. This full day event will feature senior industry executives and policymakers discussing the major issues impacting the mutual fund industry.
The day will commence with a keynote address by the Honourable James Flaherty, Minister of Finance, Government of Canada. It will also include a regulator panel discussion featuring Bob Bouchard of the Manitoba Securities Commission, Eric Lapierre of the Autorité des marchés financiers, Noreen Bent of the British Columbia Securities Commission, and Rhonda Goldberg of the Ontario Securities Commission.
In addition to the policymakers noted above, a leaders’ panel will discuss the challenges and opportunities to the asset management business. This panel will feature Charlie Sims of Mackenzie Financial, Don Stewart of Sun Life Financial Inc., Jeff Orr of Power Financial Corporation, and George Lewis of RBC Asset Management.
