Unplug the Christmas Machine!

For Immediate Release

(September 30, 2003) - Refocus your energy and your wallet this holiday season. On Saturday, October 18, Credit Counselling Services of Alberta (CCSA) is presenting a three (3) hour workshop to help people plan a more rewarding holiday season.

Based on the popular book, "Unplug the Christmas Machine", by Jo Robinson and Jean Staeheli, this workshop helps people reduce their stress and increase their enjoyment of the holiday season, by exploring ways of making simple changes. "Participants examine their current practices, define what's important to create their fantasy holiday, and then combine all their insights into a workable plan for the coming holiday season," states Fran Smith, Executive Director of CCSA.

Credit Counselling Services received over a thousand calls last January from Albertans who were struggling to cope with bills. "By planning a holiday season that fits your wallet, you not only enjoy the season more, you start the New Year on track," offers Smith. It's a sure way to keep the spirit of the season and avoid January bill payment blues.

This workshop will be held from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at CCSA, Suite 225, 602-11 Avenue SW. To register call: 265-2201 or 1-888-294-0076. The cost is $25 a person or $30 a couple.
