Canadian Parents for
French initiates For Immediate Release (Ottawa, October 1, 2003) - On October 3rd, 2003, effective advocacy will be the focus during a workshop held by Canadian Parents for French (CPF) at the Holiday Inn Select in Halifax, NS. Advocacy with Élan: Building CPF's Community Profile will provide training for community-level members through participation, dialogue and idea sharing. "The workshop is part of our national program and is designed to benefit our members at the chapter levels" says Dr. Ian Richmond, CPF's National President. "Making Canadian parents aware of the choices available to them regarding French-second-language (FSL) education is one of our primary activities. Advocacy training, such as strategies and techniques, will not only help our members improve their FSL programmes, but increase their appreciation for our official languages."
