For Immediate Release

May 19, 2004

(St. Catharines, Ontario) - This year's 9th Niagara New Vintage Festival, June 12 - 27, 2004 is set to be a true discovery of the senses.

The journey begins on Sunday, June 13 from 2 pm to 5 pm in the heart of the Twenty Valley with the 2nd edition of the Dairy Farmers of Canada’s ‘Spring Garden Party.’ Visitors to the Ball’s Falls Conservation Area in Jordan embark on an adventure guaranteed to stir one's thoughts and palates with over 30 of Ontario's award-winning wineries pouring their best selling wines, and cheese makers presenting over 25 fine Canadian cheeses, including a selection of award winners from the Canadian Cheese Grand Prix. Explore Niagara’s second most famous water fall, sample best selling whites, reds and cheeses and enjoy a barbecue, all for $49 Cdn. per person.

But the path to discovery doesn't end here. Building on the success of last years festival, the New Vintage Winery Touring Passport has been expanded to sixteen days of tastings, tours, seminars and many other special events focused on the newly released wines, June 12 to 27. A $15 Cdn. Passport will be your key to experience the first public samplings from Ontario’s 2002 and 2003 vintages at the various participating wineries along Niagara's renowned wine route. All this is just a prelude to the big events.

Be there on Saturday, June 19 as more than 30 acclaimed Ontario wineries gather to uncork the first taste of their previous year's harvest. The TD Bank Financial Group’s 'Niagara New Vintage’ Wine Tasting Gala will take place at the newly opened Niagara College Culinary Institute Restaurant in Niagara-on-the-Lake from 7 pm to 10 pm. Your $79 Cdn. ticket will allow you to be among the first to experience and savour a taste of Ontario’s new vintage wines while enjoying Niagara’s distinguished entertainment and cuisine. Keeping with the theme of spring time and growth, the Niagara New Vintage Festival will be growing out of wine country for the first time.

The Chubb Insurance Company of Canada is pleased to present their second in a series of Winemakers’ Dinners with the inaugural ‘Tastes of Ontario’ New Vintage Winemakers’ Dinner on Friday, June 25 at the Panorama Restaurant perched on the 51st floor of the Manulife Centre in downtown Toronto. Guests are expertly guided by the winemakers themselves through a delicate six course repast, an experience which can only be equaled by the surroundings.
Tickets are priced at $195 Cdn.

The 2004 Niagara Vintage Niagara Festival will be a true demonstration of all that this great region has to offer.

Join us in Niagara for our year round wine festivals; the Niagara Wine Festival, September 17 to 26 and the Niagara Icewine Festival, January 14 to 23, 2005.
