The acquisition of Alfa Laval by Tetra Pak combined the strengths of two recognized world leaders in their respective fields -- Tetra Pak in packaging and Alfa Laval in food processing -- giving the new organization increased global competitiveness.
Employing 16,000 people worldwide, in Canada, Tetra Pak produces Tetra Brik Aseptic packaging material (juice boxes) from its plant in Aurora, Ontario. The company also produces gable top carton for milk and juice in its Calgary, AB., and St-Leonard, PQ. factories. Tetra Pak's processing capabilities include the production and installation of dairy and fruit processing equipment, cheesemaking equipment, and world renowned separation technology.
