Association of Registered Interior Designers of Ontario
ARIDO is the self-regulatory organization for Interior Designers in Ontario. It represents over 3,300 members. ARIDO designers carry insurance and are bound by professional ethics and standards of practice. In 1999 the government passed Bill Pr6 which proclaimed that only those practitioners who meet ARIDO standards may use the title of "Interior Designer" in the province of Ontario. To become registered with ARIDO, an individual must meet education requirements, gain years of experience and pass examinations. ARIDO designers generate over four billion dollars of economic activity and design over 97 million sq. ft. of space annually. The Association provides referrals for commercial and residential projects.
