The Canadian Tobacco Manufacturers' Council (CTMC) is a non-profit industry association composed of the three major Canadian manufacturers: Imperial Tobacco Limited, RJR-Macdonald Inc. and Rothmans, Benson & Hedges Inc.
The Council represents the industry on all matters of common interest among the companies of a non-competitive nature. This includes co-operation with governments and others on the smoking and health question; on taxation; on definition of product standards; on support for scientific research; and on national and international industry relations.
