This is a new employer and the creation of a joint labour relations committee to look over the contract application for the next five years and the reactivation of the Health and Safety Committee are positive steps.
The five-year agreement provides wage increases of 2.5 per cent in each of the first four years and 3 per cent in the fifth year. Other agreement highlights include:
One additional statutory holiday
One additional vacation day after each five years of seniority after 18 years
Four weeks of training for quality inspectors
The 91 members manufacture furnaces for the domestic home heating market.
