What: Dr. Claude Montmarquette (from the Centre for Interuniversity Research and Analysis of Organizations (CIRANO)) will present his research findings on the impact of a financial advisor in building household wealth and the factors that contribute to wealth accumulation. Following Dr. Montmarquettes presentation, audience members will be invited to ask questions.
Why: The latest CIRANO study builds on work that was first published in 2012 and brings new and critical insight into the causality of wealth accumulation. It also looks at what happens when households keep or drop an advisor.

Who: Dr. Claude Montmarquette is a Fellow of the Centre for Interuniversity Research and Analysis of Organizations (CIRANO) and Professor Emeritus of Economics from the University of Montreal. He has authored or edited eight books, more than 70 scientific articles, and more than 55 public policy papers.  Dr. Montmarquette has chaired and participated on many committees for the Government of Quebec and for many others, both nationally and internationally. He is a member of the Order of Canada.
Jonathan Durocher, our session moderator, is Senior VP, National Bank Financial, and President & CEO, National Bank Investments. He is a member of the board of directors of IFIC and the board of directors of Cystic Fibrosis Quebec.
